Women's Auxilary

The Women’s Auxiliary prepares Kiddushim each Shabbat for the congregation and special Kiddushim for people who are celebrating a simcha. They raise funds to support the workings of the Synagogue.

Friends In The Great Synagogue

FIGS is a group of Great Synagogue members who meet for social functions including quiz nights, picnics and excursions.

Great Support Team

The Great has a team of volunteers who keep in touch with those of our Great Synagogue family who are unwell, bereaved or isolated. Should you or a member of your family need support, please ring 9267 2477 and ask for Rachelle.
 

Great Support Team morning tea

Reconnections

From time to time our older congregants join for a morning or afternoon tea in a private home with either Rabbi Lawrence or Rev Hilton as well as members of the Great Support Team. If you would like to be included in this activity, please ring the Synagogue office on 9267 2477.

Social group for the Golden Aged

One of our congregation is considering re-forming the L’Chaim Group, which was very popular in the ‘90s.

The L’Chaim Group was made up of older people who enjoyed coming to the shule regularly to for a variety of social, cultural and educational activities, sometimes to hear a speaker, and have a light lunch in pleasant company.

We would love to know if there are members of The Great Synagogue family who find this idea appealing and would like us to proceed.
