The Great Synagogue is home to a glorious musical tradition. Every week the Synagogue is filled with the sound of an outstanding cantor and choir performing ancient and modern compositions. This recording presents that tradition in all its beauty.
The Great Synagogue Choir joins with Cantor Joshua Weinberger to record some of the masterpieces from the Synagogue repertoire, reflecting the unique blend of eastern and western European Jewish music, as it evolved in Sydney, creating a special, Australian sound. LeDor VaDor translates as From Generation to Generation and is a celebration of the past, present and future of Synagogue music at The Great Synagogue.
