Support During Times of Loss

In our warm and caring community, you are never alone — especially during life’s most difficult moments.
If a loved one is approaching the end of their life, please know that we are here for you. Our ministers offer guidance, comfort and support, and can perform the final rituals of life with compassion and dignity.

When there is a passing, please contact both The Great Synagogue Office and the Chevra Kadisha as soon as possible. This allows us to play our part in preparing for the funeral and informing the community. A Minister will visit your family to offer comfort, help you prepare the eulogy, and, as well as presiding at the funeral, will lead prayers at the Shiva.span>

Ongoing Care & Post-Bereavement Support

Grief does not end with the funeral. Our ministers and community are here to walk beside you in the weeks and months that follow. Whether you need someone to talk to, wish to mark important dates in the Jewish calendar, or simply want to reconnect with community life, we will support you in ways that feel right for you.

Our community stands beside you, offering comfort, care and compassion when it matters most.
