WITH KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Professor Yitshak Kreiss MD, MHA, MPA

Director General,

Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer

Professor Kreiss is Director General of Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer, the largest hospital in Israel and the Middle East, named by Newsweek Magazine as one of the Top 10 Hospitals in the World, for the last three, consecutive years.

Since assuming the role of Director General in 2016, Professor Kreiss is leading the transformation of Sheba Medical Center into the "City of Health"-- from strategic planning and hospital design, to operations, policy and leadership. When completed in the years to come, the "City of Health" will become the global model for the "hospital of the future".

When the Covid-19 pandemic hit Israel, Professor Kreiss was the first to provide a comprehensive emergency response on campus, and swiftly devise treatment protocols for Israel's hospitals. He was responsible for introducing novel telemedicine, for safe monitoring and treatment of Covid patients, and facilitating a huge talent drive to expedite medical innovation and production of viable solutions.

Prior to assuming his position at Sheba, Professor Kreiss served in the Israel Defense Forces for nearly 30 years. He ascended from being a front line combat surgeon, through the chain of command, until assuming overall leadership of the Medical Corps, as the IDF's Surgeon General.

Professor Kreiss has received various awards for his outstanding contributions to world medical efforts during humanitarian crises during both war and peacetime, amongst them the Jean Mayer Global Citizenship Award as a sign of recognition of his career in humanitarian aid.

In 2018 Professor Kreiss was ranked as the 5th most influential person in Israel by TheMarker, Israel's prestigious daily business newspaper, and in both 2019 and 2020 he was included in the Jerusalem Posts listing of the world's 50 Most Influential Jews.

Professor Kreiss is married to Inbal and has three children: Liron (29), Guy (26) and Adi (21) and 1 granddaughter.
